Breckenridge, Minn., Pipeline Replacement Project

Phase 1 - Complete
Phase 2 - Contractor needs to take out old risers and perform final clean up near homes
Phase 3 - Mains are installed and contractors are working on services
 
The project will pause on November 1st, 2014, in preparation for winter weather. Project work will resume in the spring of 2015 (exact date dependent upon local weather conditions).

Initial Release:

Great Plains Natural Gas is replacing existing natural gas main pipelines and service lines in Breckenridge, Minn., beginning this summer. The project is to update infrastructure to ensure our customers safe and efficient natural gas service now and well into the future.

Construction is expected to begin the week of June 9 and is expected to last four to six months, weather pending. 

During construction, the following will be done for each Great Plains Natural Gas customer:
  • Flag proposed route for service line replacement
  • Locate all utilities in the area
  • Install new gas main/service lines
  • Disconnect service to a residence to reconnect the meter after the new line is installed
  • GPNG will require access to each residence to manually inspect natural gas facilities and sewer clearances if clearances cannot be determined in the field
  • Coordinate a time to perform appliance relights

For non-GPNG customers:

  • If you are interested in obtaining natural gas service, call 1-877-267-4764 for more information
  • Non-gas customers may see locate flags in or around their properties due to location of utilities in city right of way
  • GPNG may require access to a residence to manually inspect natural gas facilities and sewer clearances if clearances cannot be determined in the field.

Sacred Heart, Minn., Pipeline Replacement Project

Great Plains Natural Gas is replacing existing natural gas main pipelines and service lines in Sacred Heart, Minn., beginning this summer. The project is to update infrastructure to ensure our customers safe and efficient natural gas service now and well into the future.
