Renville, Minn., Pipeline Replacement

June 24, 2015

Great Plains Natural Gas (GPNG) Co. will be replacing existing gas mains and services in the city of Renville in 2015. The project is expected to take approximately six to eight months dependent on weather conditions. A portable document format (PDF) copy of the project map is available for viewing or download HERE and project maps will also be available at the city hall. A brief description of the work process for CURRENT and NON-GPNG Customers follows.

Current GPNG Customers

  • GPNG will flag proposed service route for replacement
  • Utilities will locate all existing facilities in area
  • GPNG will install new gas main/service
  • GPNG will disconnect existing service line and meter located at each premise
  • GPNG will reconnect meter set upon completion of new service line installation
  • GPNG will require access to residence to manually inspect natural gas facilities and sewer clearances IF clearances cannot be determined in the field
  • GPNG will coordinate a time to perform appliance relights
NON-GPNG Customers

  • If interested in natural gas service contact 1-877-267-4764 for more information
  • Non gas customers may see locate flags in or around their properties due to location of utilities in city ROW
  • GPNG may require access to residence to manually inspect natural gas facilities and sewer clearances IF clearances cannot be determined in the field

Breckenridge, Minn., Pipeline Replacement Project

Great Plains Natural Gas (GPNG) Co. will be replacing existing gas mains and services in the city of Breckenridge in 2015. The project is expected to take approximately four to six months dependent on weather conditions. Project maps are included below. Project maps will also be available at the city hall. Below is a brief description of work process for CURRENT and NON-GPNG customers.

Current GPNG customers

  • GPNG will flag proposed route of service for replacement
  • Utilities will locate all existing facilities in area
  • GPNG will install new gas main/service
  • GPNG will disconnect service to residence to reconnect meter after new line is installed
  • GPNG will require access to residence to manually inspect natural gas facilities and sewer clearances IF clearances cannot be determined in the field
  • GPNG will coordinate a time to perform appliance relights
Non-GPNG customers

  • If interested in natural gas service contact 1-877-267-4764 for more information
  • Non-gas customers may see locate flags in or around their properties due to location of utilities in city Right of Way
  • GPNG may require access to residence to manually inspect natural gas facilities and sewer clearances IF clearances cannot be determined in the field
Restoration work will be completed and coordinated through GPNG for the repair of boulevards, yards, alleys and streets that were impacted by natural gas replacement activities.
