Paying your Great Plains bill is easy and convenient

In person

You can stop at any Great Plains Natural Gas Co. office to pay your bill.

By mail
Remember to include the upper portion of your bill along with a check or money order.

Drop boxes and local merchants.
There are drop boxes authorized by Great Plains to accept payments. Call your local office to find out if there is one in your community.

Pay by Bank
Great Plains Pay by Bank allows you to have your bill automatically deducted from your bank account. Each month you'll receive your Great Plains bill as usual. Then approximately 22 calendar days after the billing date, your financial institution will deduct your payment from your checking or savings account. Best yet, the service is free.

To enroll in Balanced Billing and/or Pay by Bank, fill out the authorization form below. If signing up for Pay by Bank, please provide a voided check from your checking account or savings account deposit slip and send it along with your monthly payment. Within two months you will see a message on your
bill alerting you that Balanced Billing and/or Pay by Bank is in effect.

Pay-By-Phone or Pay Online
Payments can be made by phone or online anytime with electronic transfer from your checking account, savings account, or money market account. You can also use ATM or Debit cards if the card has a "NYCE", "PULSE", or "STAR" logo, or your Visa, MasterCard or Discover credit card.

Pay-by-Phone and Pay Online options use Western Union® Speedpay®, an independent service provider not affiliated with Great Plains, to process all payments. Each time you use these services you will be charged a convenience fee of $3.95 by Western Union Speedpay for each transaction. Your credit card or bank statement will show the combined total of the utility bill and the convenience fee. Each time a payment is authorized, you are reminded of the convenience fee and given the opportunity to accept the fee or end the transaction. Payments made after 4:00 p.m. Central Time will be processed the following business day.

Pay-by-Phone:
Call 1-866-364-5829 and follow the prompts. You may also opt to speak to a Great Plains customer service representative from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Central Time by calling Fergus Falls at 1-877-267-4764 or Marshall at 1-888-577-5529. (Be sure to have your account number ready.)

Balanced Billing
Balanced Billing takes the guesswork out of budgeting and levels out your monthly Great Plains bill so you can reduce fluctuations brought on by changes in the weather and the price of energy. With Balanced Billing, your monthly gas bill is based on your average usage over the past 12 months at the current price of natural gas. Balanced Billing is a free service.
