Conservation Rebates Available June 1, 2010
Great Plains has been awarded a grant that is funded through the American Recovery Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and administered by the North Dakota Department of Commerce - Office of Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency. This grant award offers financial incentives to encourage residential consumers to initiate natural gas conservation measures in their homes and are available to Great Plains' residential natural gas customers in North Dakota.
Rebates will be issued for equipment purchased and installed between June 1, 2010 and December 31, 2011. Funding for these programs is limited and rebates will be paid on a first come first served basis, with a maximum payout of $5,000 per customer. The following outlines a summary of the programs available.
Residential Natural Gas Heating Program:
Great Plains residential natural gas customers who purchase and install a natural gas furnace with an Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) of 90% or greater qualify for the following rebates:

** The 90% + AFUE rebate is only available for existing home furnace replacements.
An additional $300 rebate is available for FEMA documented flood victims.
To apply for the Natural Gas Heating rebate, fill out the following form, include a copy of the dealer sales invoice (with the brand, model number, serial number and installation date), a copy of the AHRI certificate and send it to Great Plains:

Residential Natural Gas Water Heating Program:
Great Plains residential natural gas customers who purchase and install a high efficiency natural gas water heater with an Energy Factor (EF) of .62 or greater qualify for the following rebates:

Residential Attic/Wall Insulation Program:
Great Plains residential natural gas customers who are enhancing their existing home with additional attic and/or wall insulation qualify for the following rebates. In order to qualify for the program, the beginning R-value for attic insulation cannot be greater than R-20 and the beginning R-value for wall insulation cannot be greater than R-0. Rebates are available for both contractor and self installed projects. In order for self-installed projects to be considered for the rebate the customer must have an energy audit performed on the home.

Residential Energy Audit Program:
Great Plains residential natural gas customers who have an energy audit performed on their home are eligible for a rebate of up to $125.00. The customer is responsible to pay the first $30.00 of the cost of the audit, and Great Plains will provide a rebate on the difference, up to a maximum of $125.00.
To apply for the Energy Audit rebate, fill ou the following form, include a copy of the energy audit report, contractor invoice (including date energy audit performed) and send it to Great Plains:
