Great Plains is committed to helping customers save energy and money. Great Plains offers its Minnesota customers incentives through a variety of Conservation Improvement Programs (CIP). Not only will customers receive money for investing energy saving equipment, they will also save money into the future through reduced energy bills. These programs are approved on an annual basis and are in effect from January 1, 2010- December 31, 2010. Great Plains residential natural gas customers who purchase the following high efficiency natural gas equipment may be eligible for a rebate:

Energy Star rated programmable set-back thermostat - $20. To apply for the high efficiency heating and Energy Star rated thermostat programs, fill out the following form and send it to Great Plains.

Residential Furnace Tune-Up Program:

Great Plains will provide a $50.00 rebate to customers who have a furnace tune-up performed by a qualified contractor.  Furnace tune-ups maximize the efficiency of existing natural gas furnaces.  To apply, fill out the the following form and send it to Great Plains.

Residential Energy Audit Program:

Residential Energy Audit Program - If you are noticing moisture problems, drafts or other problems with your home, Great Plains offers residential energy audits. For only $50.00, a state certified energy auditor will perform an audit of your home, discuss energy saving ideas and provide you with energy saving supplies worth approximately $25. If you are interested in receiving a home energy audit, fill out the following form and send it to Great Plains

Great Plains offers a limited number of Residential Energy Audits annually.

 

Residential Attic Insulation Program:

Great Plains residential natural gas customers who are enhancing their existing home with additional attic insulation qualify for incentives based on the table below.  The incentives are based on the beginning R-value of the home's attic insulation (the beginning R-value cannot exceed R25) and the ending R-value must be R49.

All attic insulation projects must include attic bypass sealing in order to qualify for this program.  Learn more about Attic Bypasses from the Minnesota Department of Commerce Energy Information Center
